Discernment Counseling
and Online Therapy
for Couples and Individuals
“Your present circumstances don’t determine where you can go. They merely determine where you start.”
~ Nido Qubein
Hi, I’m Jodi Lerner.
I’ll guide you through your challenges so you can confidently take your next steps.
Finding a new and workable path to emotional healing in your life or relationship can be overwhelming, frustrating, and painful. You may struggle with past hurts from your childhood leaving attachment wounds that need repair. Or perhaps your relationship is on the brink and you can’t seem to discern your next steps.
These are important factors in life that require the help, guidance, and support of a trusted, compassionate, and understanding counselor. You shouldn’t have to do this challenging work on your own.
And you don’t have to. I’m here to help.
Cultivate Deeper Clarity and Understanding
My goal is to help you discover the root cause of your distress and help you feel good about your connection with your interpersonal feelings towards yourself and others. I want you to find clarity, direction, and a strong sense of self-awareness and confidence.
I will equip you with effective tools I’ve developed to help you navigate your challenges as they happen. I’ll help you come to a clear understanding of your own behavior patterns and how you are showing up in your relationships. I understand what it means to make every day count.
And I want that for you, too.
What I Offer
If you’re in a relationship crisis, unsure of your next move, discernment counseling can provide you with the clarity you need. Maybe you’re thinking of separating. Or perhaps you are considering couples counseling. Before you spend your time, energy, and money on either option, you want to be 100% sure of your decision.
That’s where online discernment counseling can help.
Discernment Counseling isn’t couples therapy. You will address relationship struggles, however, the focus is not on behavioral change. Instead, discernment counseling is a powerful short-term process designed to bring clarity and direction to your relationship. After a maximum of five sessions, you’ll be able to confidently decide whether you should stay together.
Do you want to know more about how you show up in your relationship? Do you want to understand why you and your partner continually end up in the same unproductive and hurtful dance? Are you both committed to working on your relationship? Or are you looking to build a firm foundation in your relationship through premarital counseling?
If that sounds like you, I’m prepared to help you through online counseling, coaching, and therapy for couples.
Imagine yourself in a boat, struggling to paddle upriver all alone. It’s exhausting. It’s draining. It’s depleting.
Now imagine if you had someone accompanying you in that boat, armed with the necessary tools to make navigating the journey easier. It’s more bearable with someone by your side, guiding and encouraging you, right?
That second person? That’s me – a partner who will support you through your challenges. While I’m happy to guide you through any journey, my specialties include the following:
- Childhood Emotional Neglect (CEN)
- Attachment disorders stemming from CEN or challenging relationships in your past
- Self-esteem issues
- Self-compassion
- Newly separated and feeling overwhelmed
Going it alone is too much for one person. Let me be your guide through the rough waters of life.
Family is the foundation of our lives. A family provides love, support, and a sense of belonging. Sometimes, though, even the strongest families can face challenges. Communication breakdowns, conflict, and emotional distress can create distance and strain these important relationships.
Family therapy is a collaborative process where a therapist works with all family members to identify unhealthy patterns, develop coping mechanisms, and cultivate a more supportive and understanding environment.
The Powerful Benefits of Online Therapy
Are you wondering if online therapy is as good as in-person?
I get it. Many people wonder the same thing.
Believe it or not, because the world has gone online since 2020, many studies have revealed online therapy to be just as effective (if not more so) than in-person therapy.
Online therapy is an effective way to connect with me to get the help you need from the comfort of your own home. Or from your office, a park bench, or while walking your dog! In my professional experience, I’ve seen the success of online therapy and counseling. I’ve worked with individuals, couples, and families, and our online sessions have proven more relaxing and just as effective.
You can attend sessions in your PJs, post-workout clothes, or snuggling with your pet. And if we’re working together for online couples counseling, both parties can participate from separate locations if necessary.
Not to mention, you don’t have to battle traffic.
